Between God and Me
Get brutally honest with God with the questions below. These questions are great to respond to in a journal. Or use them as a way to get you focused during a time of prayer and reflection. See how what you are going through is really no different than what happened during Jesus' times.
Dear God,
What kind of woman am I going to be?
—Me
God wants every girl to be who she was created to be. Close your eyes, Mini-Woman, and ask God to guide you step-by-step on the journey. Ask for whatever would help you—a wise grown-up woman, older girls who can be role models, a great group of friends on the same search. Believe God will take you there.
More to get you thinking
Dear God,
Do you really love me?
—Me
It's good to go to God when you don't feel loveable. Get the "Of course I love you!" that you need by singing a prayer. Whether you make up your own words to a tune you like, or create a melody of your own, burst into song about God's love. You'll sing yourself right into knowing God is crazy about you.
Dear God,
Did you really raise Jesus from the dead?
—Me
It's human to have doubts. It's godly to take those doubts to God for answers. The fact that you are asking God questions means you believe he can and will answer them. Just be sure to listen to what he has to say, whether it's in your experiences or in the Bible or in a peaceful feeling inside you.
Dear God,
I wish things were different.
—Me
If you could change one thing in your life right now, what would that be? Try dreaming with God about what it would be like not to have that problem or challenge. Ask him to help you paint a mind-picture. Share your own ideas with him. When God gives you a glimpse of something better, he's giving you hope that it will be.
