all that and a bag of chips
HURRAY! Our website artist and graphic designer just received MORE props for her kickin’ work. Our own Ms. Artist was nominated Young Artist of the Year by a local panel of judges. She’s all quiet about it but it’s a super big deal! Doesn’t it rock when people do the things God built them to do! Sorry but I couldn’t help taking a moment to brag. The whole crew at the That's What YOU Think blog is so jazzed. If you’ve checked out her killer work on the website, you get why. Plus, she knows who gave her that talent, and she’s plenty grateful. So are we!

drowning in homework
Why do they do this??? It seems like every teacher at Typical High is in on a secret plan to torture students by making all of the HUGE assignments due at the same time. I hardly have time to eat let alone blog these days. I promise I’ll be back….that is, if I don’t drown in a sea of books, poster board and papers first.

hold that thought
Did you ever have such a bad day that you just didn’t know which way was up? Sometimes I try to write an entry but am afraid I might regret what I’ve written. I’ve heard of people getting really mad and then firing off an e-mail out of anger and then wishing they could get it back. I see kids do it all the time at Typical High… they have a disagreement with a friend, boyfriend or girlfriend and then write an e-mail, text message or note letting off steam, anger, and often, some not-so-nice thoughts as well.
Somehow, people feel like writing is a way to let things go. This can be true, but the second that you send that message to another person, the thoughts live on forever. We have to be careful what kind of messages we send because they say something about us. Messages can keep giving out negative impressions that last a lot longer than the feelings that caused them in the first place. So, chill first. Before I write anything, I try to remember that what I write could stay in someone’s mind forever!

computer creeps
I just got done watching the news with my pops and am having a hard time falling asleep. One of the stories really got to me. It was about a thirteen year old girl who met some guy in a chat room. He said that he was fifteen and all into the same things as she was. So he asks the girl to meet him at the mall and the girl goes, thinking it was a safe enough public place. Of course he wasn’t fifteen- he was like forty something- and he tried to get the girl to go with him in his car. Luckily somebody was near by and called the cops on her cell and they came and broke things up. Turns out this dude had like a page-long criminal record.
I mean HELLLOOOOO girls. Why does the promise of “true love” on the internet continue to win out against common sense? Obviously, I am not anti-internet, but let’s get real here: internet love is not REAL love. The internet only shows what people want it to show. My readers know me as Jane but they don’t really know me at all. I mean, how much real info and honest interaction goes on in cyberspace?. REAL love (God’s love is the best example) is whole and honest and total. Real love accepts all parts of who you really are. I wish more girls would remember that and I think that they would be safer and healthier if they could.
