Faithgirlz! Fashion Guide

Faithgirlz! would never say something is cool just cause everyone else in doing it. Faithgirlz! Fashion celebrates looks girlz choose to wear that respect themselves and make them feel good about who they are.

Five Fabulous Faithgirlz! Fashion Ideas

Idea 1: Fabric markers are your friends

You can use them to create so many looks! Design your own t-shirts, add some flair to jeans, canvas shoes, or plain scarves or bandanas. The possibilities are endless and every creation is one-of-a-kind!

Idea 2: Reuse … rediscover … revamp

Is your dad getting rid of some old neckties? Grab ‘em up to use as a belt or a head scarf. Did only one of your favorite socks make it out of the laundry, the other never to be seen again? Cut off the foot section and use the elastic ankle section to create a funky wrist band or leg warmer. Ask relatives to share jewelry they are done with — Grandma’s beads and old pins can go a long way once you get your hands on them!

Idea 3: Mix and match

Use your existing clothes and accessories to create totally new looks. Throw a skirt over a pair of jeans, wear a t-shirt over a long sleeve shirt, or combine contrasting colors. Fun fashion is not about buying more and more clothes. Getting creative with what you have is the Faithgirlz! way!

Idea 4: Have a used clothing party

Clean out those drawers by hosting a used clothing party. Every participant has to bring two or three pieces of clothing that are in good shape but remain sitting in their drawer or closet unused. Put all the items in the middle of the room and take turns choosing something new from the pile. Draw numbers if the mood gets competitive. This is a great way to spend time with friends and a totally free way to change up everybody’s wardrobe.

Idea 5: Get stitchin’

All it takes is a few simple stitches and you can transform almost anything by adding sequins, beads, buttons, or even a patch or two. All that’s required is a needle, thread, and some imagination. The sky’s the limit — you might go crazy and cover a whole purse or simply add a new design on the pocket of some old jeans.

Faithgirlz Tip #3

I'm blonde with blue eyes, but that doesn't mean I have to stick to tans and pinks. I love purple eyeshadow for school, or red lipstick on a special occasion. This isn't overboard, it's experimentation! You can wear any color you want to, so long as you wear it right!
– Marissa, age 11

Faithgirlz Tip #4

Okay, so some of you girls think that makeup is bad and God is against it.But I strongly suggest you reconsider. Look at our female Christian role models. How about Nancy Rue?? She wears makeup, and God certainly has blessed her. I love wearing makeup, and I think that it can actually strengthen your bond with God. Since we won't be worrying about our looks anymore, we can give our attention back to him. Just go for colors that compliment your God-given beauty.

Faithgirlz Tip #6

Take out all of your clothes and lay them out on your bed. Take out some of your least fav. clothes until you have the same number of tops and bottoms. Mix and match until you have an outfit for the most important ocassions. Fold the outfits together, label them (Like if you have a outfit for a town trip, label it town trip.....and so on.) and put them in your dresser. use any remaining drawers for storage.

Faithgirlz Tip #7

I love layers!!! I always wear them. If a shirt is to short, wear a longer T-sirt under it. Or you can change your look up wearing different colored shirts....Anything goes good over a black long-sleeved T-shirt or a white one. I like to wear two colors of blue or green. I find that if you wear light colored or lightly patterned butten-up (a 3/4 sleeve looks great.) under a polo T-shirt, it looks AWESOME!!! :) If you are layering, DO NOT wear heavy or bulky clothes over or under other clothes!!! Hope this helps!

Faithgirlz Tip #9

My fashion tip is if your parents don't like you wearing short, shorts or skirts then wear legging underneath. I personaly think that you should always wear something no body else would wear. Create a new style and be free, just dress approriate. Keep that style.

Faithgirlz Tip #10

Here Is My Tips! Hair:messy buns are extremely hot right now, and so easy to pull off. Perfect for bad hair days, lazy days, and pretty much any day you want! They look great during the day, at night, at work, school, whatever you want Fashion If You Got A Skinny Bottom:Skinny bottom half? Wear a full top over narrow pants Fashion if got short waist:Short waisted? Wear a long top and short skirt Fashion if got petite torso:Petite torso? Wear a fitted top with full pants Fashion if got long Hips: Long Hips? Pair a short top with long bottoms More Tips Bellow Show off the trimmest parts of your body by combining a tight fitting piece with a loose fitting one. Any color worn head to toe in a clean, unbroken line will produce a dynamically slimming effect. Don't worry if separates don't match exactly. Tonal variations are a creative alternative. Taller bodies can take larger prints and more contrast. The darker a print's background, the slimmer the look. Blouses: a collared shirt always gives a torso a few good inches and frames the face handsomely. A slim v-neck makes the neck appear longer and is usually very flattering. Boatnecks are great for minimizing waists and hips, while maximizing sexy shoulders. If your legs are fuller inside, try a side slit. If your legs are fuller outside, a mid-front or back slit is a better choice. There is never an excuse for panty lines! A thong is a girl's best friend - they even come with tummy control. Bright colors bring attention to an area - make sure you wear them wisely and only on your most flattering body parts. Dark hosiery is in this fall. While brightly colored turquoise and scarlet hose may look great in the store window, muted hues like teal and wine are much more flattering. Match the shoe and the hose color to tighten the look even more. A shoulder bag tucked quietly under the arm is most flattering. Stilettos are back and in spite of the discomfort at times - they make your legs look like a million dollars!
