A Monday-Friday Back-to-School Prayer Guide
As your daughter starts the school year, bless her with the gift of prayer.
Here’s a Monday through Friday guide that you can use all year long!
On MONDAYS, pray for your tween’s MIND. Pray for understanding as she begins classes once more.
And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.—Colossians 3:23
Lord, I lift my daughter up to you today, asking that her mind would be clear. Help her to focus in class, do her best, and gain the knowledge that she needs to best serve and honor you.
On TUESDAYS, pray for your daughter’s ability to resist TEMPTATION.
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. —1 Corinthians 10:13
Jesus, please enable _________ to stand firm against peer pressure and the endless temptations she faces. Protect her from enemy schemes. Help her to turn to you to find a way to escape what tempts her most.
On WEDNESDAYS, pray for your tween to find the WISDOM that comes from God alone.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. —Proverbs 9:10
Lord, give my daughter discernment. Let her see the destruction that comes from foolish choices and the peace that comes from following you. Grant her wisdom beyond her years and courage to choose what is right and good.
On THURSDAYS, ask God to give your daughter a THIRST for Him and His Word.
As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God.
—Psalm 42:1
Jesus, please help __________ to hunger and thirst for more of you. Help her not to be satisfied by the pleasure of this world, the approval of men, or an illusion of self-sufficiency. Help her know her need for you. Help her to seek you and the truth of your Word daily.
On FRIDAYS, pray for your tween’s relationships with her FRIENDS.
The righteous should choose his friends carefully, For the way of the wicked leads them astray. —Proverbs 12:26
Lord, please guide my daughter to wise and godly friends. Protect her from the influence of those who would lead her astray. Enable _______ to lead her friends closer to you. And help her to shine the light of your love and your truth to those who need to know you.
As you watch your daughter grow and be stretched this year, remember…
He “…is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us…” —Ephesians 3:20
